Skidmore Contemporary Art is new to Laguna Beach, but the gallery was a mainstay of Bergamot Station in Santa Monica for 14 years. Known for presenting art with a hip sense of beauty and optimism, Lia Skidmore represents contemporary painters whose works convey emotional optimism and aesthetic nuance, in harmony with Southern California’s artistic traditions. Exhibitions feature a diverse range of genres, from California plein-air landscapes and traditional figurative realism to midcentury architectural studies, pop-art-inspired realism, and contemporary photorealism rendered in oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
